Dear FreeBSD,

I am a FreeBSD 2.2.2 user. I love the operating system, and I had an =
idea. We used to have a system to which the schoolboard used, consisting =
mainly of a single 486 "server", and a couple hundred or so ethernet =
"terminals". Similar to what is called an "X-Term"...but a bit =
different.
The system origionally ran it's own GUI, based on a QNX back-bone. =
It has since then, been replaced by desktop P.C.'s, and a Novell =
Netware, (4.11/intranetware), system. What I'm hoping to do, is to =
resurect the old(er) system, and run it with new(er) software. I have =
been in contact with QNX, and they've offered me all they have to give. =
They do not however, have the origional version to which these systems =
ran upon, (I beleieve was 1.4, but do not remember). This brings me to =
my actual question.
I have the support and the backing to run QNX again on these =
systems, however, I do not paticularily care for the O/S, and of course =
the licsensing of the O/S would also be a factor. What I'd like to do, =
is to try and implement the same system, but to run it from a FreeBSD =
box, possibly using x/xdm.
I would like to know if anyone whom you know of has ever implemented =
FreeBSD over a system of Xterms, and if so, would it be possible for me =
to contact them, as I've not yet had very much of a start on them, but I =
am guessing that when I do get into the project, that I will come up =
with some very interesting questions.=20
Any and all help you can provide will be greatly appreciated. I hope =
to have this system up and running within a few months, for a "trial" =
with about ten or so machines. To later implement it over a much more =
massive network.
