I can't get lpt0 going. The device is a VESA local bus all-in-one board (hd controller, fd controller, serial ports, parrallel port.) The instruction sheet doesn't specify the manufacturer (?!) but the model number is S1345. Connected to lpt0 is an HP Laserjet III printer. If I enter the command 'cat /etc/printcap > /dev/lpt0', I get the response "device busy". Same thing after I kill the lpd daemon. I recompiled the kernel after removing all of the extraneous device drivers, and still get the same "device busy" message. The same hardware works fine under Linux and DOS. I would very much appreciate any tips on debugging this problem.
