Get into the Compaq BIOS (whether by floppy, SmartStart
CD or System Partition), press ^A at the main menu, and
you should get a notice about entering Advanced Config
Mode.

It's a somewhat undocumented feature that I tripped over
a while back when I was trying to get SMP working on a
Prosignia 500... Lots of extra settings that you would
find in most "normal" BIOS's - including a switch to
ignore missing keyboards  :)
