The default is everything is installed stripped, but WITH_DEBUG=yes defined will leave the symbols in path. It's not supposed to be conditionally stripped. If the makefile uses ${BSD_INSTALL_PROGRAM} it will do the right that. A sloppier but acceptable way is to use ${STRIP_CMD} in a post-install target which works depending if WITH_DEBUG is set.
