  I'd have to disagree.  The 2.0.5A install seems to be very sensitive, 
but I have never seen it panic, or any programs core dump, during or 
after the install.  Since the install now will install X over FTP, I 
installed that, and FTP'ed netscape.  Still *no* crashes.
