Think -p is do-nothing when creating the original tape.

I do similar to the above but generally only bother to do /etc, /var,
and /home. If I have a real disaster would rather reinstall OS from the
CD(s). /var/db/pkg lists the optional packages so I'd know what to 
reinstall from ports.
