short answer (before CHECKER will find it ;-) :

It will work *argl* but is _not_ considered to be a correct solution
so please do not apply. I still consider my original patch to be
correct.

I will post a detailed argumentation for discussion within the next
hours after I have done some other work I have to do (away from
computing machines ;-).
