Sorry, two mails expressing misunderstanding within short time...

Clarification: this is _not_ about removing the compat cruft from the
entire system (this is at your option by removing COMPAT_43 from your
kernel config file anyway).  It was only about removing the old compat
stuff from getty, and just getty.  This *only* affects the unability
to use f0#01234:f1#01334:f2#33072-style gettytab entries any longer.

(The termios counterparts for this are, of course, available.)
