I think he might possibly mean DES-encrypt, if so you need to install the DES libraries (see sysinstall, configure, dists or compile crypto stuff in make world) and make sure the links for lib*crypt stuff points to the des ones, then force password changes (I believe) On Thu, 18 May 2000, Daniel C.
