Dear sirs,

I am using FreeBSD 4.5-STABLE (Tue Mar 26 15:29:18 CET 2002) and I
experience problems installing linux-opera-6.0.20020218 from FreeBSD's
ports collection.

Problem description:

[root@Malmsteen /usr/ports/www/linux-opera]# make install clean

===>   linux-opera-6.0.20020218 depends on file: /compat/linux/lib/ld.so -

installed
*** Error code 2

Stop in /usr/ports/www/linux-opera.
- -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

2 weeks ago I installed linux_base-7.1 (also from FreeBSD's ports
collection). The emulator seems to work just fine (I run
linux-netscape-6.2.1_1 without any problems).

When I tried to install linux-opera I got the error message you can see at
the beginning of the problem description.
Hence I uninstalled linux_base-7.1 (pkg_delete linux_base-7.1).
When I tried to install linux_base-6.1_1 I got the following
error-message:
setup-2.0.5-1.noarch.rpm
package setup-2.4.7-1 (which is newer than setup-2.0.5-1) is already
installed

I asked for help on #freebsdhelp and they told me that it was a
rpm-related problem and advised me to make contact with the mantainer of
the opera port.

I received the following answer:
"It has nothing to do with me; please ask emulation@, or the maintainer
of the linux_base port."

I hope that you can come up with some solution for my problem or redirect
me to someone who can help me.

Thank you in advance

Best Regards

Simeon Simeonov
