do execute swapon -a

Don't do this.  The network interface is already config'd
You do want to config lo0. 

I use a standard /etc/rc with no ifconfig_edX in rc.conf

> mount_nfs server:/usr/rootfs/client /
> mount_nfs server:/usr               /usr 

I also let the standard rc take care of mounts via /etc/fstab
