This is wrong. A Celeron is a 686. Dmesg from my Celeron 433 shows

CPU: Pentium II/Pentium II Xeon/Celeron (434.32-MHz 686-class CPU)
  Origin = "GenuineIntel"  Id = 0x660  Stepping = 0
