Thanks Greg, Here are some additional descriptors & messages: Created mount point /tape Created entry in /etc/fstab /dev/nrwt0 /tape ufs rw 2 2 did a mount/tape ==> mount: /tape: unknown special file or file system _______________________________________ from /root , did a tar cv * ==> tar : can't open dev/rsa0: Device not configured The interface (is) should be an IDE accelerator board in a 16 bit ISA slot however on booting a 'lsdev' does not seem to list it but does show a: pxe @0xef70 in addition to the drives and their partitions.
