As some of you are probably aware, the MySQL server is a multi-threaded
SQL server which runs on FreeBSD (and many other platforms) and is
distributed in source form with reasonable licensing requirements. Until
now, the threads implementation used by MySQL on FreeBSD has been a
modified version of MIT pthreads maintained by the MySQL author. In the
interest of having this package work with the FreeBSD native threads
implementation, I made available a system for Monty to do a port on
(3.0-970618-SNAP). Unfortunately he ran across a couple problems which
would benefit from comment by someone experienced with the FreeBSD native
threads implementation. That person is not myself. If anyone has time to
answer some questions via e-mail, in the interest of expediting this
development work, please drop me a line.
