Nope, that WD drive is the only IDE device on the ENTIRE system.

Well, I do see some code inside #ifdef ATAPI conditionals that
seems to deal with buffers and/or IRQs. Could it be that this is the 
difference? (I'll send you the 2.2.7 wd.c if it's convenient.)
