The package system *is* "something like" apt. pkg_update will replace
all installed versions of a package and propogate
dependencies. pkg_add just adds packags without removing the old ones,
which can cause problems.

We've got "something like" apt. If there are some features from it
that you'd like, you need to provide more details.
