Hi folks,

I'm at home with flu and bored beyond the point of stupidity. In an
all-too-successful attempt to while away the hours, I'm trying to
install 3.2-RELEASE onto my el cheapo laptop.

The boot process locks up shortly after the -P keyboard probe fails.
This is not a problem, so long as I can remove boot.config from the
kern.flp image.

Now here's the catch. I have no UNIX machine at home, and there's no
diskette in the 3.5" drive of my office machine. So I've been trying
unsuccessfully to use vnconfig to mount the kern.flp image so that I can
manipulate its contents.

I have the vn.ko kernel module loaded. I've done MAKEDEV vn0 in /dev/.
The closest I've come to success has been:

[root@axl] ~sheldonh # vnconfig -e /dev/vn0c kern.flp mount=/mnt
vnconfig: mount: Input/output error

So clearly, the medication I'm on is more groovy than I'd first
imagined.

I'd really appreciate tips on how to remove boot.config from my
3.2-RELEASE kernel floppy without having a physical UNIX machine
present. I can do remote fiddles to my heart's content.

Thanks,
Sheldon.
