I think that's intelligent, not paranoid. However, I wonder about
using cvsup and date tags to update the other systems. Wouldn't it be
a little easier/faster/etc. to do the nfs buildworld/installworld
split thing that's been discussed here, or rdist the source tree from
the test machine to the other machines?
