maybe we could do the following:
(we want to keep these people on-side)

mkdir /dev/MACH-4
cd 	/dev/MACH-4
echo "MACH-4 devices.. DO NOT USE UNDER FREEBSD" >README
mknod (devices mentioned)
cd..
ln -s MACH-4/iopl iopl
{etc.....}

having them in the filesytem won't hurt us unless peole try use them..
