I'm using a Toshiba Laptop with a Noteworthy 56k PCMCIA modem. I've been using these 2 ISPs for some time now in windows and Linux. But since I have switched to FBSD, these same ISPs drop the connection every 2-15 minutes. I have no warning... suddenly DNS quits, then the carrier is gone. I have tried different combinations of modem options to drop X2 and 56K support, but nothing seems to work. Only FBSD does this, and it doesn't matter whether i use ppp or KPPP. Does anyone have any ideas? p.s. I emailed my ISPs, asking them to check my log files. They said they had no clue, I should call the modem manufacturer. -jm To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-mobile" in the body of the message
