Oh, yes, I forgot to mention it. I've also tried to use the mouse only in
X (not as sysmouse, but with it own driver), but X says that it couldn't
open mouse device, and dies away.

I've now tested the mouse with another computer - it works fine. So no
problems with mouse itself, only with the mainboard/USB controller...
