I updated to Gnome 2.18 shortly after its release, and so far it has
been a disaster for me. I'll start with trackerd, which is probably
easy to fix. Right now top shows it is consuming 120% of my CPU time
(it is a dual system). I have disabled tracker in the Gnome Sessions
panel, and set the following in tracker.cfg:

EnableWatching=false
EnableIndexing=false
EnableFileContentIndexing=false

No go.

The man page does not list how simply to turn it off. The suggested
file tracker.cfg(5) does not exist.

How can I turn it off for now?

Frank
