I'm quite sure it's mentioned in the archives, I think it has to
do with the way FFS does the layout, using a non-power-of-two
stripe size should spread the layout more cleanly across the 
disks.  It probably should be mentioned in the manpage, it's quite
temping for newbies and experienced users to use a power of two.
