Great, thanks to you all!
I just updated ports, merged 7.5 and started the big portupgrade - will 
take some days on my old machine ...

Perhaps you should send your announcement to some more mailing-lists? - 
I just remember the endless discussions following the last xorg upgrade. 
The more people you find for testing the less nagging there will be.
