Well, you could look at how the php3 port is setup and how the MySQL
port is setup and use that knowledge to start tinkering yourself.

I compiled Apache/PHP for PostgreSQL 6.5.x by myself by reading the
accompanying docs and looking at some options in the Makefiles.
