BTW, I could have sworn that the behaviour of the SunOS ldconfig when used without any parameters was to refresh the cache leaving the paths in hints even if the LD_LIBRARY_PATH env var wasn't set. Ours clears the paths instead so I lose X11, /usr/local/lib, etc. Regards, Mike
