For a standard system, ive always simply installed windows, partitioning as much space as i want windows to use. Then install FreeBSD on a desired slice [partition]. Just make sure to also install the FreeBSD boot manager, and it should automatically see your windows partition, and any other os's you might have installed. then you can just select which one to boot from when you start up.
