Hello everybody, 

Today I had some more time to deal with this and I may have nailed it. 

Find attached the patch to ports/converters/libiconv/files/patch-ae

and the build and install logs. I also tried with a different prefix
than the default and it seemed to work.

I may be wrong of course, so I would appreciate a review:-)
