All your kernel setting are correct.  Check the under "preferences"
check the settings for "Audio I/O".  You will be using either libOSS.so
or esound.so.  I had problems with esound back on 4.6.2 if I remember
correctly, and that is why I use libOSS.so.  I also switched to x11amp.
