I would recommend upgrading to 4.6 Release instead of 4.5, unless you have some very specific reason for wanting 4.5. The release tag would indeed be RELENG_4_6. Why not just follow the instructions given in http://www.freebsd.org/handbook/cutting-edge.html ?
