The following reply was made to PR ports/20157; it has been noted by GNATS.

On reflection, though, this seems like something which belongs in the
"real" libtool distribution, and not simply in a local
ports-collection patch for FreeBSD; since libtool is intended as a
portability tool, many of its users may be using it for software
that's intended to work on FreeBSD, but may not get libtool from our
 ports collection.

Do you happen to know if any effort has been made to get this FreeBSD
fix included in the primary libtool distribution?

 Dave.
