I'm not sure what the rationale was for this, but it's possibly
something we want to re-think since the worm driver has some definite
shortcomings.  It prevents you from using the same drive as an
ordinary CDROM, and the changes required were extensive enough that we
couldn't support it under 2.1.5 (and most likely whatever follows it).

I think I'd be happy to see the worm device go away and be replaced by
something in user mode.
