Not kernel. Fstab. Which slices do you have FreeBSD on? If it's on
sd0/slice 2, sd1/slice 1 and sd3/slice 1, for example, then your fs
map should look more like this:

/dev/sd0s2a 63550 56212 2254 96% /
/dev/sd3s1e 1013214 235922 696236 25% /usr
/dev/sd1s1a 4053342 880786 2848290 24% /pub/FreeBSD
/dev/sd3s1f 1519838 235186 1163066 17% /home
/dev/sd3s1g 1013214 82 932076 0% /tmp
/dev/sd0s2f 3656040 876530 2487028 26% /mnt
