I've been looking into quad-Xeon systems here; the Intel boxes are
available from various resellers, the cheapest I found is SAG Electronics
(www.sagelec.com). A quad-Xeon box with 2 Xeon-400MHz, 2GB DRAM, and
1 10000rpm 9GB disk comes to about $11500 - counting $1K each for the
cpu's and $2K/GB for the DRAM that means the box is < $5K, which seems
a pretty good deal.

Hope to get the machine in the next couple of weeks, and I'll post a
report on how it goes.
