I got a response to my "hate" mail... It is attached for your
reading pleasure. Don't know much about this, but it _seems_
sincere.... Guess we'll find out soon...

And, apologies for the way I sent the message to the group; It was
not intended to be interpreted as sent to any subscriber to the FreeBSD
mailing lists; but I wanted to chime in on how I would (and did, from
my end) fight it.

joe

Joseph,
Your letter informing me of the recent spam has been received.
Ordinarily I would thank you for the information. I will instead
suggest that you reserve threats of legal action to your second
correspondence (after the first fails to get an appropriate response).
We are professionals here at Net XS and do not take actions like
SPAMming lightly. In the future, please treat us with simple common
respect until we demonstrate that we are not worthy of it. I understand
that when you fight spam you must often deal with troublesome
administrators, I hope to not be one of them.

The person guilty of this particular spam has been given notice. His
server will be disconnected from the Internet by 5:00pm Pacific Standard
time today. This server hosts the following known domains:

  vegasone.com
  mojave.net
  digitalfantasies.com
  xfinder.com

If you have any questions, feel free to send me email.

I can tell you that we have had our stream on over 100 different websites for the past year and only the top 10 sites exceeded 700 hours for any given month, so for the majority of adult websites our stream will never cost more than $500 per month.
