I tried the way I used to do it:

$ ski -i ia64.cmd bootloader kernel.ski

loading kernel.ski...
starting kernel...
No system table!

fatal kernel trap:

    trap vector = 0x18 (General Exception)
    cr.iip      = 0xe0000000007d72e0
    cr.ipsr     = 0x1210080a2010 (mfl,ic,dt,dfh,rt,cpl=0,it,ri=1,bn)
    cr.isr      = 0x8000000030 (ni,ei=0)
    cr.ifa      = 0xdfffffffffffffe8
    cr.iim      = 0x0
    curthread   = 0

Stopped at      0xe0000000007d72e1:     ld4 r15=[r14]

?
db> c

This happened with both the GENERIC and SKI kernels. I'm guessing that
some dependency on EFI/SAL/whatever has crept in and is not conditional.

Cheers,
-Peter
