I am not too familiar with audio drivers, so I'm hoping you guys can answer this easily and save me a trip through the code... Also, I don't need a very detailed answer... Generally, how is data captured or received from the card? Is it all raw sample data and are the drivers responsible for converting among file/compression formats or is any of this done at the hardware level? Also, does this vary among soundcards? (Specifically, b/w a SB16 and a GUS?) Thanks, -j _______________________________ Jan Martin Borgersen borgerse@cs.unc.edu http://www.cs.unc.edu/~borgerse
