This password has been assigned to a username, looks good doesn't it? tBnq2s3l9Bz Under FreeBSD 2.2.5-RELEASE AND 2.2.6-STABLE the user can also use JUST THE FIRST 8 CHARACTERS OF THE PASSWORD TO GAIN ACCESS. In other words, these passwords also work: tBnq2s3l9B tBnq2s3l9 tBnq2s3l In addition, these passwords will work: tBnq2s3lASDF tBnq2s3la@343 tBnq2s3l2938.239847 1. Is this normal? 2. Is it sane? 3. Is it posted somewhere? PS - In case anyone asks, this is for telnet access.
