oh, I see.  Changes to em(4) have not propagated to the releng/10.1 branch and
won't appear in an installable version until 10.2r

so until 10.2r is out, you could apply r283504 and r284444 to see if the
problem goes away for you, and if not apply r284522 and test as well.  Is this
something you can do?
