Yes. We've been there before, and found that it's so much a matter of personal preference that we cannot agree on anything. I'm certainly not the only one whose entire setup on a bunch of machines is trimmed to ^? as the rubout key. (I normally also map this to the key that is labelled <-- on my keyboard. I don't have keyboards where this key might be labelled `Backspace' anyway. :) Root's profile shouldn't try to touch the rubout setting at all.
