Though not as fully featured (or if you prefer, "bloated" ;), 
Imendio Planner (http://planner.imendio.org/) is pretty good for 
basic Gantt charts and resource allocation planning. Planner is 
easily installed as part of the gnome2-office metaport, or I'm 
pretty sure that you can install it separately.
