Right, I've found the time to look at this.

The proposed patch will work, but doesn't seem very elegant.

I wrote the scr2* stuff on a FreeBSD system, deliberately using the
available bsd.*.mk macros in /usr/share/mk for simplicity. Now it looks
as though a FreeBSD bsd.prog.mk Makefile will need to be post-processed
before it plays nicely with the ports system.

That strikes me as 'wrong' somehow. /usr/share/mk and ports/Mk should
be a little more integrated than this. Any thoughts on how we might go
about it?

If not, I'll just commit the suggested patch. But it would be nice to
find a way to do it a little cleaner.
