ok
i bought freebsd and i have a little problem
i just read the book and i found out that my cd-rom isn't supported
no indication on the package or anything and there's a no return on open
software policy where i bought it

anyway
its an ATAPI -CD ROM
32x max speed
actually that's about all i know

its in a hp pavilion 6343 pc
AMD K6 processor at 300 mhz
i guess a generic IDE disk type 1
and an NEC 3.5" 1.44 mb floppy
and a problem i had with X windows with linux....unknown chipset..its an SiS
5513 i think..
LT winmodem
SCSI freecom IQ
ps/2 mouse
and a standard keyboard

im not sure if anything else will go wrong, so i included most of the stuff
i know about my pc

i'd hate to waste another 50.00 for an o/s i can't use
