To those making an xf86 patch:

perhaps you could include -Wl,-soname -Wl,libfoo.so.major and other little
things, so that the [more] correct X libs get picked up.  Now, symlinking
*.so.* to *.so would be great to so one doesn't end up with static xterm
and other X utils.  Oh yes, and remember the truetype servers :)
