The following reply was made to PR www/149957; it has been noted by GNATS. From: Johann Kois <jkois@FreeBSD.org> To: bug-followup@FreeBSD.org, gpr@mail.ru Cc: Subject: Re: www/149957: Outdated manual pages Date: Wed, 22 Sep 2010 21:05:31 +0000 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hm, As far as I know the "FreeBSD version number at the footer" is the version of the system where the manpages where built and NOT the version you searching for. So even if you are searching for a 9-CURRENT manpage it will still say "FreeBSD 7.2". But the manpage should be the same as the one you have on your local system. See also: http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-doc/2010-August/017461.html Could you check if the manualpage is really outdated? Meaning different from the one you have on your local 9-CURRENT system? Because here (8.1-RELEASE) the content of the manpage is the same as on FreeBSD.org. Only the footer is different (here it says "FreeBSD 8.1" as this is the FreeBSD version I am using). - -- Johann Kois jkois(at)FreeBSD.org FreeBSD Documentation Project FreeBSD German Documentation Project - https://doc.bsdgroup.de -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.15 (FreeBSD) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iEYEARECAAYFAkyab5sACgkQ/rDr791hwtioDQCfePltNeXHOeddB03GiHaj36vD QAIAmgPCZ9DmMeWZhclGi3Wtmp93qSqS =KoMq -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
