I would have preferred to see us commit 0.8.21 to HEAD and MFH that,
then commit 1.0.0 to HEAD. 0.8.21 was a harmless security update, while
1.0.0 brings a lot of change (in regards to the irssi world). In the
future please consider that we want quarterly branches to be stable for
both features *and* security. There are often exceptions such as
browsers and other software that users will expect to be the latest, but
irssi would have been fine to leave at 0.8.21 in quarterly for another 3
months.

I appreciate your work and effort to MFH; do not take this as a
criticism of your contributions. Just be mindful in the future of
potential POLA violations and other things that we could shake out in
HEAD first.

Thanks!
