Hi,

I have seen similar questions asked in -mobile w/ no answer, so I thought=20
I would take a shot here...

I have a Dell Inspron 5100, and I have been using (until this weekend)=20
5.2.1-REL w/ a Netgear MA401 PCMCIA 802.11b wireless card. The wireless=20
card has been getting nicked over time, and I thought it would ne nice=20
to get a card upgrade. I had a Cardbus card already (Netgear WG511),=20
but it's Prisim 3 based, so there wasn't a native driver for it... =20

So I picked up a Atheros based card (DLink DWL-G650) And it works fine=20
with the ath driver. However, the one nag I have is that FreeBSD won't=20
detect the card at boot time:

cbb0: CardBus card activation failed

I have to pop the card out and pop it back in (or pop in the card after=20
the initial detection) for the card to be detected properly.=20

This weekend I updated to -current to use the NDIS driver w/ the WG511,=20
and although I got the card to work, I have the same boot-time issues.=20
(Guess it's a generic CardBus issue)

Has anyone found a workaround in perhaps /boot/device.hints to=20
fix/workaround this issue?

Thanks - Peter
