>If GNU make don't have it, it is *NOT* POSIX conformant! Just read POSIX spec. P1003.2, "make" command f.e. It says nothing about error condition there. Moreover NetBSD (and FreeBSD now) makes only blames on it, other world makes don't. As I noted previously, this does *NOT* occur in NetBSD any more. It strikes me as a bit odd that people are being so quick to defend what is obviously a bug.
