I've encountered dozens of little tools over the years that I've needed to run on my FreeBSD box that were linux only. They were produced by enthusiasts in some area (TiVo, ZipIt, etc) that don't have the resources to port them to FreeBSD. The Linuxulator made my FreeBSD system more useful by being able to tap into these communities more easily. The whole Adobe Flash thing is a red herring. Even if we couldn't run the Linux version, a native version likely wouldn't happen. A combination of politics and low demand get in the way. Solving the low demand problem doesn't solve the politics problem. It also doesn't solve the "Flash sucks" problem either (npviewer.bin anyone?). Let's be careful not to cut off our nose to spite our face. Warner
