QT used to have problems interacting with egcs - do you have it installed?
I've seen the same error trying to compile qt-nethack (even setting CC/CXX and
recompiling libqt with the system compiler). I've yet to try deinstalling egcs
and seeing if it compiles then (in the past that's what I've had to do).
